Demo Solidarnosc

On Friday, October 22th 2021, thousands of Polish miners gathered in Luxembourg for a peaceful protest march, which took place under a significant police presence. The demonstration was in response to a decision by the European Union's highest court mandating the closure of a mine in Poland. Members and supporters of the trade union Solidarność, which organized the protest, arrived in large groups from Poland. They expressed their solidarity by honking horns and waving flags and placards. The protest march caused disruptions in the Kirchberg area until early afternoon, leading to road closures and prompting some businesses to shut down in response to the event.
